Eye Examinations

At Dickinsons, we provide a comprehensive 45-60 minute eye examination. The Optometrist can spend time with you to understand your history and symptoms, as well as precise visual needs. Whether this relates to your working environment or your hobbies / interests, we are here to help.

It is a requirement that we assess the health of the eye during a standard eye examination. We include Retinal Photography as standard in our examination as we want all our patients to benefit from this.

Due to advanced technology we can now provide a more in depth examination whereby the Optometrist captures a 3D view of the Retina.

This allows for earlier diagnosis of common eye conditions such as Age Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD), Glaucoma and Diabetic Retinopathy that may be undetected until symptoms occur.

It is also the best monitoring tool for detecting changes on the central retina. The Optometrist will advise you of this in the test room if they feel it would benefit you.

At the end of the examination, your Optometrist will discuss all the examination findings with you so that you are confident we have provided a thorough and accurate examination.
